I bought the Synthesis being a total skeptic…even after I received it but now I love it more and more each day. It’s a quality product and actually innovatively engineered by people who care. It’s not just another copycat Amazon product resold under 50 different “brands”.
Caudaube has 3 lines:
- Synthesis – original line, best protection and still super slim (I have this one and love it)
- Sheath – new thinnest line, still good protection
- Veil – thin see-through line
Because let’s be honest, looks matter. It’s not just stylish…there are distinct little details that make it stand out from the typical generic case. the way it’s designed makes it look slimmer as well!
After first opening the box, I felt it was maybe cheap for a $28 product. But that’s partly because of how slim it seemed and also because of the semi translucence. Once you put it on…it looks and feels solid!
I think rigidity is important so that drop impact will be distributed to the rest of the case instead of only on the corner where it impacts. Then again…maybe you have a different philosophy about protection. I imagine some people believe a softer case will better protect against impact due to increased “cushioning” effort.
The texture and feeling is great. The ridges for support are exactly where they need to be. The design is clever. And the case really looks great. You’ll understand why once you get it. I also feel my phone runs cooler with this case on.
The color stays, too! Some cases (especially the clear white ones) turn yellow after time. Maybe a cheap plastic or something.
Any slight con?
The gritty texture is more slippery than you would imagine because it’s hardened plastic. Whereas a smooth but rubber texture will “stick” more in your hands. Like you’re not gonna drop it if it’s already in your hands…but it’ll be harder to catch out of the air while falling compared to rubber. With that said, I much prefer my Caudabe to my old rubber case.
