Ever wanted to try a public DNS service?
- They’re useful when your local ISP DNS is slow or doesn’t update fast enough.
- Also useful to get around local ISP blocking certain sites or IP ranges.
- They’re also useful for “privacy” reasons when you don’t want your local ISP to track you. But then again, your traffic would be routed through Google or Cloudflare DNS proxies and certainly they could theoretically sell your info as well. In case you care…I trust Cloudflare over Google.
Anyway, making the change is really easy on your computer. Let’s get to it!
How to do it on Mac OS X
- If using Cloudflare, put “1.1.1.1” instead.
How to do it on Windows/PC
- If using Cloudflare, put “1.1.1.1” instead.
